Readers ask me all the time whether I listen to music while writing and I do. Building a playlist is one of the first things I do while plotting a new book because lyrics heavily inspire my stories. Each book has a playlist but often I will listen to one or two albums over and over while writing a book. For example, I wrote the second half of Fierce entirely to the album, Here's To The Good Times by Florida Georgia Line, and Slay was pretty much written to Taylor Swift's 1989 album while Command was heavily influenced by Joe Moore's A Thousand Lifetimes album.
